Since 2006, the foundation “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (House of Small Scientists) has been working to promote access to quality early education for all children – regardless of their background, gender, or their parents’ income. We consider education in the areas of mathematics, nature, and technology to be an integral part of good early education.
With a nationwide training program and over 230 network partners throughout Germany, “Haus der kleinen Forscher” supports educational specialists and teachers in maintaining and sustainably promoting children’s natural curiosity.
Thus, we make an important contribution to improving educational opportunities, promoting young talent in the STEM field, and professionalizing educational staff.
The foundation’s partners are Helmholtz Association, Siemens Foundation, Dietmar Hopp Foundation, and Deutsche Telekom Foundation. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Our values and the educational approach underlying “Haus der kleinen Forscher” are based on the fundamental democratic rules of the Federal Republic of Germany. For us, one thing is unquestioned: education is a human right. All children should be able to discover our world with open eyes. In addition to the joy of research and discovery, openness, tolerance, and equality are therefore central to our work.
We take a clear stance against xenophobia, extremism, and discrimination in any form.
