Prowo Berlin gGmbH offers a wide range of support services for people who have experienced mental illness and/or addiction. Our services are aimed at children, adolescents, adults, and women as well as parents and their children on the basis of Social Codes 5, 8 and 9. We support people in (re)discovering and following their personal path. Originating from the model psychiatry program of the Federal Ministry of Health and in the debate with the anti-psychiatry movement, our motivation to this day is that people with mental illnesses can live self-determined lives while their personal needs, wishes, and limitations are respected.
Our facilities in seven Berlin districts are protected spaces for change and places to live. Our many years of expertise are complemented by those of our numerous network and cooperation partners. Prowo Berlin is part of the Network of Social Service Providers together with neuhland – Hilfe in Krisen, MeG Betreutes Wohnen and Land in Sicht. United as a network, we help to shape socio-political developments in Berlin and Brandenburg.
It is particularly important to us that our work also serves to inform and educate the public about mental illness. We want to promote understanding and respect in society and facilitate unprejudiced coexistence––as individual lifestyles and diversity are the norm, not the exception.
