Gesicht Zeigen! encourages people to take a stance against racism, anti-Semitism, xenophobia, and right-wing extremist violence. The organization takes up current political debates by public statements. The aim of Gesicht Zeigen! is to raise awareness of discrimination of any kind, and the strengthening of civic involvement.
To realize our goal, Gesicht Zeigen! develops projects and events that diminish bias-based judgment and foster a sense of togetherness. The organization initiates campaigns advertising civic involvement with the support of numerous celebrities for different media formats such as cinema, TV, or posters. On facebook, the organization informs about current events on a daily basis.
Additionally, Gesicht Zeigen! puts their goals into practice: The organization realizes projects for the society of migration such as the innovative exhibition „7xjung – dein Trainingsplatz für Zusammenhalt und Respekt“, or the nationwide school project „Störungsmelder on tour“. The blog format „Störungsmelder“ was awarded the “Grimme-Online Award” in 2008. Since 2006, is bearer of the “Buber-Rosenzweig-Medaille”.
Gesicht Zeigen! regularly organizes visits in schools, discussion formats, readings, concerts, and round-table discussions. The organization co-hosts the annual “Aktionswoche gegen Rassismus”, commemorating March 21 with numerous nationwide events.
