The right-wing extremist demonstration was scheduled to start at 15:00 but was delayed by two hours as the right-wing extremist’s marching route was blocked. Meanwhile, on Washingtonplatz at the main train station where the racists were supposed to start the gathering, many people took part in Berlin gegen Nazi’s campaign under the slogan “Sky-high – For a Berlin against Nazis!”
Despite the rainy weather, Berlin gegen Nazis was able to distribute almost 500 balloons to the participants of the counter-protest. Many families came especially for the balloons, enriching the crowd of protesters.
Likewise, Berlin gegen Nazi’s 4 meter-tall inflatable bear had a clear message to deliver: „Berlin gegen Nazis. Wir sind viele.“
