Commemoration of the victims of the racist murders in Hanau

On Saturday, February 18, and Sunday, February 19, commemorative events will take place on the 3rd anniversary of the racist murders in Hanau.

On Saturday, February 18, from 13:00, the network Netzwerk für Demokratie, Toleranz, Respekt und Vielfalt Spandau calls to join their rally on Marktplatz Spandau. The call states:

“Racism kills and has no place in Hanau or Spandau. We remember Gökhan Gültekin, Sedat Gürbüz, Said Nesar Hashemi, Mercedes Kierpacz, Hamza Kurtović, Vili Viorel Păun, Fatih Saraçoğlu, Ferhat Unvar, and Kaloyan Velkov. Our thoughts are also with the relatives and survivors of the attack. We wish them strength and have great admiration for the courage they apply towards demanding a dignified commemoration of the deceased.”

At 14:00, a broad alliance of initiatives and organizations mobilizes to join the memorial event on Oranienplatz in Kreuzberg.
